Södermalm is one of Stockholms most beloved islands, and the area Maria not at least. The Maria area is more than just trendy shops and cozy cafés. It is also an area with diverse architecture, popular city parks and great stories to tell. 

It´s a former working class environment that has ”upgraded” in the last years. It means it´s quite trendy today, and has preserved some of the classic Stockholm ambient and buildings.


The Maria Mountain is looking towards Riddarfjärden, Old Town and the City. You can take a walk on the outside of the mountain, with an astonishing view over Stockholm.


Ivar Lo´s Park at Mariaberget. This height of the northern part of Södermalm has been inhabited since the 1300s. In the area there have lived and worked many well-known Swedish artists and writers.


The area surrounding the park Mariatorget offers quite a number of cafés and bars. The Rival hotel and bar, which until recently was a cinema theatre, is partly owned by former ABBA star Benny Andersson.


Eriksdalsbadet is a great bathing and swimming facility, with several different pools indoor and outdoor, adventure pool, Jacuzzis, saunas and much more.
